King County Initiative 26
There are two votes on the August 19th ballot that we need to bring to your attention.
Initiative 26, and the council proposed alternative, would change the King County Executive, Assessor and Council from Partisan (Republican or Democrat) to Non-partisan.
At the Executive Board Meeting on Tuesday, August 5th, the following resolution was presented and passed:
Resolved, that the Executive Board of the 46th District Democrats oppose changing the King County Charter to make the Executive, Assessor and Council positions non-partisan.

The Road to Victory:
The Washington State Neighborhood Challenge
It’s simple. To guarantee a Democratic win in the White House, for our own Washington State governor, and for many other State and local officials, we need to ensure that every Democrat in Washington State 1) is registered and 2) votes in the August 19 primary and November 4 general election. The State Party has initiated the Neighborhood Challenge to help us accomplish this goal.
WE NEED YOU!
Please help us canvass your neighborhoods for new voter registrants and in get-out-the-vote efforts. If you can help, please contact 46th LD members Kathryn Lewis at kathryn@kathrynelewis.com, Tim Keller at timothykeller@mac.com, or Javier Valdez at airjav@msn.com.

Before July 19!!
PCOs: Please make sure to canvass your own precinct by July 19, the registration deadline for the August 19 primary. Contact Kathryn Lewis at kathryn@kathrynelewis.com if you need walking lists, sample scripts, tally sheets, or just someone to walk with you (it is more fun as a team!)
If you are unable to walk your precinct for the primary, please contact Bernadette Laqueur at blaqueur@comcast.net or 206-525-8911. For more information about: http://www.46dems.com/2008/challenge.php.
